Education, B.A. - Secondary Education

Program Description

The Secondary Education program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and leads to a recommendation for Instructional I certification in one of the following content areas (second major): Social Studies (History major), English, Communication, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Spanish (PK-12). Students may select religion as a dual major option, but it does not lead to teacher certification.  Secondary Education majors choose a second major from the list above.

Why Take This Major?

Secondary Education majors have the benefit of immersing themselves in a content area through their second major. Upon graduation and certification, Secondary Education teachers can work in middle or high schools in grades 7-12.
